10 Signs You Have the Entrepreneurial Mindset

You may still be starting out on a new venture and you do not consider yourself an entrepreneur yet, but you know in your guts that you really are an entrepreneur. How do you know for sure?

Here are 10 Signs You Have the Entrepreneurial Mindset

1. You dare.

Entrepreneurs have the guts. They dare in spite and despite the circumstance they are in or what other people say. They do not mind if their vision seems impossible for now. Instead, they dare to take action to fulfill that vision.

To any entrepreneur: if you want to do it, do it now.
If you don’t, you’re going to regret it. – Catherine Cook

2. You are afraid but you don’t hesitate.

Entrepreneurs are people too – and they too, are afraid of what’s ahead, but they never let that get in the way. Instead, they take their fear and turn it into something they could use as a fuel to realize their vision.

Risk more than others think is safe. Dream more than others think is practical.
– Howard Schultz

3. You are resourceful.

It doesn’t matter where you are and what you have. If you are an entrepreneur, you know you can make things happen with what you have and where you are. You don’t use your lack as a setback of what is possible and you are efficient in creating what you need to create in order to fulfill that dream.

I hate how many people think, “glass half-empty” when their glass is really four-fifths full. I’m grateful when I have one drop in the glass because I know exactly what to do with it. – Gary Vaynerchuk

4. You are a friend of change.

Many people are not a fan of change – some even hate it. However, a real entrepreneur is the opposite – he is a friend of change. Entrepreneurs love change. You may notice people who are content with what they are doing again and again and again – entrepreneurs are different. It’s not about being discontented – it’s about knowing that change can bring something better!

Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future. – John F. Kennedy

5. You are a problem solver.

Many people quit when problems arise – entrepreneurs don’t. They always find a solution to every problem, no matter how challenging it may be. They get their satisfaction not only in solving problems but in the lessons they learn by finding the solution to the problems that are presented to them.

Everyone who achieves success in a great venture solved each problem as they came to it. They helped themselves and they were helped through powers known and unknown to them at the time they set out on their voyage. They kept going regardless of the obstacles they met. – W. Clement Stone

6. You are okay with being different.

While it is nature for many people to conform, entrepreneurs are comfortable with the idea that they are different. They do not care what people say about them and they just do what they need because it is who they are. If you feel you are different than most and you are okay with it, you might be an entrepreneur in the making.

The media wants overnight successes (so they have someone to tear down). Ignore them. Ignore the early adopter critics that never have enough to play with. Ignore your investors that want proven tactics and predictable instant results. Listen instead to your real customers, to your vision and make something for the long haul. Because that’s how long it’s going to take, guys. – Seth Godin

7. You have a passion for learning.

Entrepreneurs are passionate learners. They learn from every situation they are in and they learn from people they interact with. They also take setbacks and disappointments as lessons. They never stop improving themselves because they know they still have a lot to learn and improve on.

Continuous learning is the minimum requirement for success in any field.
– Dennis Waitley

8. You are a quick thinker.

For some people, it can be challenging to make a decision when a problem arises – entrepreneurs are the opposite. Quick-thinking is almost second nature to them and that what sets them apart. When challenges arise, they know how to focus on the solution and they are able to think quickly and decide what’s best for their enterprise.

Our unconscious is really good at quick decision making. – it often delivers a better answer than more deliberate and exhaustive ways of thinking. – Malcolm Gladwell

9. You get back up quickly.

Many people dwell on failures too long that they miss the next opportunity they are presented too. Entrepreneurs, however, consider these setbacks as lessons and they use them to get back up and conquer a new goal.

When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it  – Henry Ford

10. You never run out of ideas.

An entrepreneur’s mind is always active. It’s so active that some entrepreneurs actually never sleep because ideas keep on running on their minds. They always have something new to create, something new to offer.

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere. – Albert Einstein
